District II is home to a majority of key infrastructure and has the potential to provide economic opportunity for our people.
In District II we have many educational institutions, businesses and health care centers.
What we lack is adequate community space that house youth programing and community wellness.
This impedes on community development and is something I will work diligently to resolve.
Education is crucial to the development of our children and the future of the White Earth Nation. We must support our local educational institutions and ensure that our Indian Educators are being given the tools they need to succeed.
Our children make up 80-90% of the student body, yet they are not always given the opportunity to learn their Tribal Nations history or culture. There is no standard curriculum for White Earth history and I believe this is something that can be developed fairly quickly.
